Film Boire

To the bottom each bottle he drank
Thus besotted and blotto, he sank
So bloodshot and blind
He'd muddled his mind
And by cops he was dropped in the tank.

Happy Hangover Day from all of us at Limerwrecks! Dan Duryea hits the bottle hard in Black Angel (Roy William Neill, 1946), based on a novel by Cornell Woolrich. Woolrich was the master of morning after noir, and Duryea was the best alky film noir ever had. "Boire" is a French verb meaning "to drink".  Merci to David Cairns for the title.
