Rhyme Enough At Last

In this limerick now, a haiku
Nineteen syllables long, minus two
This first line has five
And seven more here, no jive
This also has five --There, I’m through.

  1. While it be brave to stretch the form and try something new…it might also be foolish.

Oh Backthrow, this might be the worst
To blow at two forms is a first
    This sucks as haiku
    And limerick, too
Both gasket and spleen you have burst!

  2. Your critique, well thanks much for sharing
'Tis the price paid for acting so daring
    Looks like my dual-poem
    Ain't much to write ho-ome
Instead, should I sing like Fred Waring?

  3. Not really, it wasn't that bad
But missed, by a tad, being "rad"
    I was being a jerk
    Keep up the good work
And I'll just keep being a cad

  4. There's no place like home, do not stray
The rules can't be broke, they all say
    The line must be towed
    The row must be hoed
    To elsewhere, attention, don't pay

  5. Not to worry, my bags aren't yet packed
T'was a noble attempt, but it lacked
    Both as haiku and lim
It was sans "oomph" and "vim"
The forms' cards all against me were stacked

  6. And speaking of stacked, check that, Jack
That must put a strain on her back
    That gal sure can carry
    I think I will marry
The girl holding up the wine rack

  7. I'd love to be walking a breast
And kilt when to die for was dressed
    This makes little sense
    Not even ha'pence
But I took a stab like a guest
