Get the Pointilism

B. Wolverton's artwork is aces
It features the freakiest faces
Grotesquely extending
contorting and bending
like pre-plastic surgery cases

All art by the late, great, Basil Wolverton.

  1. He reached fame by drawing up Lena
whose fitting last name was Hyena
    Each wart, overbite
    and pimple drawn tight
    for comic book or magazeena

  2. Old Basil would always add more
No pockmark nor pit did ignore
    Each gruesome detail
    he'd ink without fail
and stipple them down to the pore

  3. In sharpest detail, never blurry
his work wasn't done in a hurry
    They loved him at MAD
    His wrinkles were rad
His motto was "Wart? Who, me worry?"

  4. His version of Alfred E. Neuman
was freakish and barely a human
    The gap in its teeth
    was matched underneath
    by abscesses leaking albumin

  5. Now wrinkles,he'd put a lot on
and pimples and warts he was hot on
    But sometimes too much
    is just the right touch
His portrait of Reagan was spot on

  6. When subjects for portraits he'd pose
he'd make them sit still in repose
    But as Basil drew
    anxiety grew
for they saw every flaw he'd expose
