Cheek to Prowl

A cop and a doll start to cheat
and soon the poor husband's dead meat
They buy a motel
but wind up in hell
when turnabout turns up the heat

The criminally under appreciated Van Heflin... never gave a bad performance in his life but never got the respect he deserved. They should build a statue to that guy.

Yeah, except part of his charm was his low-key modesty, not exactly statue material. Have you ever seen him in Kid Glove Killer or Grand Central Murder, both from 1942? Murder is a zippy mystery, and Killer is one of the earliest examples of a CSI type crime lab.

If you're low-key enough, you are already your own statue.

He wasn't wooden, smartypants. But there were plenty of other actors who turned to stone before their time.

No, I haven't seen either of those. I still have a lot of catching up to do. Thanks for the recommendations.

That's because you have been busy drawing while I, apparently, have far too much time on my hands.
